SILC also provides an advanced course for students who want to improve their communication in a business setting. The class focuses on English as it is used in international trade, finance, and marketing. Students practice listening and speaking skills (including voice mail), read and discuss business materials, and practice writing e-mail and business letters.
Pronunciation:
Course content and activities center around improving the production and perception of the sounds of the English language individual sounds, rhythm, intonation, word and sentence stress, and linking phenomena in fast speech.
Professional English Communication:
The Continuing Professional Education Program in SILC also offers courses in business communication. Communication in your work environment has a direct impact on how you are perceived and on how well you achieve your personal and professional goals. These courses and a certificate are specifically designed to meet the unique needs of the learners living and working in the Sudan.
TOEFL&IELTS preparation:
SILC provides the important test-taking skills to prepare the candidates to take the paper-based test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). This intensive course guides the candidates through a review of the four skills assessed on the exam (reading, written expression, listening, and grammar) to help them succeed. While this preparation course focuses on TOEFL, the review offered during the course is also useful if you are preparing for IELTS.
